Mission Statement
EASTERN ILLINI ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE PREMIUM-QUALITY, ECONOMICALLY PRICED ELECTRICITY AND OTHER RELATED SERVICES TO OUR MEMBERS AND COMMUNITIES.
EIEC was organized on September 1, 1987, as a result of the consolidation of Eastern Illinois Power Cooperative and Illini Electric Cooperative. Eastern Illinois Power Cooperative was organized on May 1, 1937 and energized their first 114 miles of line on August 11, 1938, to serve 219 member-owners in Ford and Iroquois Counties. Illini Electric Cooperative was organized February 10, 1938, and energized their first 173 miles of line on December 3, 1938 to serve their 450 member-owners in Champaign county. EIEC now provides electric service to nearly 13,000 members located in the counties of Champaign, Douglas, Edgar, Ford, Iroquois, Livingston, McLean, Moultrie, Piatt, and Vermilion. Currently, EIEC employs roughly 70 employees. EIEC is governed by an elected eleven-person board of directors who establish the policies of the cooperative and hire the general manager. Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative is locally owned by those we serve. Through the years, our employees have worked hard to successfully keep the power on for our members. Our office staff and customer service department work daily with our members and are ready and able to provide answers to any questions or needs you might have.
EIEC headquarters are located at 330 West Ottawa Rd., Paxton, IL. Our regular business hours are 8 A.M. to 5 P.M., Monday through Friday, except holidays. Contact Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative at 800-824-5102 or fax 217-379-2936. You can also E-mail us.
