Eastern Illini is dedicated to helping you manage your electric use. Since heating and cooling costs make up about half of your monthly utility bills, knowing how efficient your home is (or isn’t) is critical to managing those costs. We have two energy advisors that are each certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) to provide expert energy efficiency advice.

BPI is a national standards development organization for residential energy efficiency and weatherization retrofit work. Individuals that have been trained, tested and certified to BPI’s nationally recognized standards use the house-as-a-system approach to improving the performance of existing homes – an approach proven to reduce home owner annual utility bills by as much as 20 percent or more. That’s why BPI standards are cited by the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as well as several state Weatherization Assistance Programs.
Some of the services that we offer include a basic walkthrough, blower door testing, and infrared camera evaluations. Costs vary based on the services you choose, and we offer a discount for Eastern Illini member/owners.
